I’m 95% recovered from major surgery I had in Feb to remove multiple fibroids. I still can’t lift really heavy boxes or even supplies but, my time in hospital and at home on bed rest got me thinking. I needed to make a major change to my business. I wanted to do more for people along the lines of skin care. I watched numerous programs on men, women and children suffering from severe psoriasis, eczema and dry skin. They all said they felt like prisoners in their bodies. I felt moved and decided to get on the case to create natural products that everyone can benefit from using.

After, a month on bed rest, I felt well enough to get moving on things. I created several formulas and gave it to friends and family members suffering with these conditions. They had immediate positive results but, I needed to tweak a few ingredients.
A month later, I finally perfected the formula and gave free samples out at craft fairs. I was overwhelmed by the positive results and feedbacks. People experienced swift results and their skin hydrated, smooth and even. Wow how great is that. I enjoyed seeing people smiling and saying they got their lives back. Good Stuff!

I have also made changes to the website, I still offer skin moisturising candles, aromatherapy candles, bath salt, teabags, soaps and wholesale store etc. But, I have updated the BACK TO EDEN range with delightful products such as: clay mask, aloe vera toner, body butter, solid moisture bar and natural soaps. That’s all you need to get great skin. Nothing More!

I only use my products and I’m constantly being complimented and asked what I use. I don’t have to wear foundation my skin is smooth, soft and I have a very even complexion. It pleases me and my husband.

Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.  Now that we are heading into February the month of freezing cold and Love, there are many wonderful delights on our website.  Not only have we added wax melts but, our candles are available with body glitter.  That’s right!

So, you can massage & moisturize your skin while adding a bit of sparkle.  How fun is that?  We also provide aromatherapy pillar candles both colour and natural in a variety of scents and sizes.  You must check it out!

Over the next few months we will be taking our products to the next level, my innovative mind is at work. We also will be creating craft & cooking tutorials on this blog.  It’s my way of sharing what I know with you.

I would like to thank you for all your wonderful testimonials. I’m really pleased that our products have helped those with severe skin problems, added that extra va va voom to your romantic evening, softened your cuticles and skin, created a relaxing mood for those stressed, and aided in the conception of  babies. You’ve all requested it and finally we have produced it. Especially when creating wonderful products that makes great gifts and are really good for your skin. Our aromatherapy candles are a great addition to your festive dinner parties as you can just burn the delightful candles in scents such as cinnamon stick, strudel and spice, pumpkin soufflé, crème Brule, banana nut bread, chocolate fudge, etc and your guests will not only be greeted with a warm welcome but, they would be under the impression that you were slaving in the kitchen all day.  For my November Thanksgiving dinner party I will be burning a few candles (mixed scents) throughout the cottage. As for Christmas, a few candles will be in my in-laws stockings as they usually throw six to eight dinner party’s a year. I know you are scratching your head and wondering well why not add the scents to the skin moisturizing candle? Well not everyone likes to smell in fresh baked bread. Hi All,

I know it’s been a long time… Hope you all are keeping well. What’s the hold up with the posts you ask well, besides completing orders I’ve been diagnosed with Fibroids. It can’t kill you but, can be painful for some women like myself. I’ve opt to go under the knife to remove the ‘’multiple balls of protein’’ as I call them. Just awaiting confirmation on op date. 

On a lighter note, many of you wanted to know what made me start my business.

Below is the answer to your question.

Michelle Antoinette was created in my kitchen after years of searching for products that promotes healthy, smooth, well moisturized skin without all the artificial preservatives and inflated costs. When I look back on how my journey began it started at University. I would save a portion of my salary from my low paying entry-level job to purchase products that supposedly would make my skin amazing. Not to mention celebrities endorsed them so, I got sucked into the whole hype. My obsession got to the point where my savings account was on the lighter side. I could barely pay my rent or even eat proper meals.  Three of my staple products (which are still very popular in the market) consists of ingredients like pearls, seaweed and diamonds and sold in 2oz containers at £100-£200 a pop. I feel ashamed to disclose the total cost of my additional purchases which included skin cleansers, toners, exfoliating creams, clay masks and skin peels. It’s funny how low funds makes one seek other alternatives.  One very cold winters’ day I realized I ran out of skin cream and decided to use olive oil. To my surprise, my skin adsorbed the oil and remained moisturized for the whole day. Pleased with the results, I decided to experiment with a variety of other oils and educated myself on their benefits. The results proved even more positive and I went through all the ingredients of my beloved store bought products to see their benefits. To my horror they were filled with naughty ingredients and the so called natural ingredients were added in small percentages.

So, lets recap, I paid a ridiculous amount of money on products that would potentially do me harm in the long run. Not very wise indeed.

I consulted a friend who majored in chemistry and she gave me detailed information on all the naughty additives, how they can affect us and once discontinuing use how long it would take to leave our system. She opened my eyes that day and I made a promise to myself that what I ingest and apply to my body will be 100% natural. I turned to a vegan lifestyle and used products that had no animal by products and free from artificial additives. My skin looked even more radiant than when I used to expensive stuff. Friends started asking me to make products for them and they too saw positive results. Word got around and I started selling my soaps and creams. I wanted to take things a step further and create a product that was a multi-functional moisturizing cream as well as a candle with would make a perfect gift. It took many batches to get the right formula. My test run again proved positive with friend, family and loyal customers. Their feedbacks were helpful and I learned the many benefits of using the candles as a skin moisturizer and/or aromatherapy candle.

Hi all,

So I have been asked to take part in three weddings next year. One’s in April, the second is in June and the third is in August. I’m really excited about the august wedding as it’s my sister’s nuptials and I have been looking forward to this day for a very long time. 

It may sound like I’m the elder sister but, I’m not. As the middle child I’ve always rebelled and did things my way. I really did not expect to be the first to tie the knot (did not really see myself as the marrying kind) but, I did and to be honest I can’t really say I have any regrets other than not having that mega wedding I’ve always dreamed of.  I’m so pleased for her and she is marrying a lovely man. As a gift to my darling sister, I’ve opted to make all her favours which would be my moisturizing candles, soaps, bath salts, bath teabags and handmade bags (a nice little gift pack). She was delighted to hear the news and have already picked out a few scents and colour ideas.

For the other weddings, I was so excited for my sister I told them exactly what I was going to do for her. Little did I know they cottoned on and wanted the same thing. Instead of having to purchase the favours from me they included me in their bridal party. Not what I was expecting or even wanted. I tried to get out of it but, got the sad looking eyes and pout, so I gave in.  All in all I do love weddings; I especially love it when my beautiful products are given as gifts/favours to be enjoyed by friends and family.

Summer is right around the corner and although the weather is a bit disappointing at least my garden is looking lovely.

We have been taking part in numerous craft fairs & Town fairs throughout the Lakes.  It’s such a pleasant experience and I really enjoy meeting new people, it’s one of the perks of what I do.  Our products have been gaining attention especially from individuals with skin conditions. We have gotten an overflow of positive feedback and requests for more and more items. Currently we are working on a skin cream specifically for eczema as that seems to be a condition that affects most of our customers.

One customer’s nine month old daughter, who suffers from severe eczema and is allergic to most ingredients in over the counter creams, had a really bad reaction to a product which was prescribed by her GP. Her mother came to me as a last resort.  I saw the little angel and could see she was very uncomfortable, this child had really sensitive skin, it looked raw. I gave her mother one of our blue mountain coffee soaps to try and made her my skin cream. I told her if her daughter is not allergic to the soap, use it everyday and moisturize with the skin cream. If she had a reaction to the soap, then use the cream on it own. After two weeks of use we saw positive results. I then told her to see if there were certain foods that her baby may be allergic to and limit or eliminate them from her diet.  I must stress the cream will work but, having a healthy balanced diet and drinking water over sugary drinks will keep the eczema at bay. From research and also using my sister who suffers from eczema as a guinea pig, I realized that certain food (even healthy) can cause a reaction. It’s a matter of doing research, testing it and ruling things out.  I am a firm believer that food plays a major role in what may affect our health.

The mad scientist in me has been twitting and tweaking various scents to add to our candles. After hours of scent inhalation, I have selected 32 lovely fragrances so far (there will always be more to come). I guess it all depends on if y’all enjoy them. I call it my scent test run.

In the next few weeks as stated in my previous post I will be adding summer deals, gift sets and freebies. Yes freebies. So keep a look out!

After 4 weeks of making candles and crafts, I finally got a few hours to spare to write on my blog, update the site and nip out to the shops. I have not forgotten about y’all but, I have to say thanks for your support. As soon as I added the ‘’spring’s coming’’ deal on our site, the almond scent combo’s were selling like hot cakes. Many of you wanted to know if almond candles works well at dinner parties, YEAH! It’s a welcoming and calming scent, it’s also good for intimate nights. I was really pleased with the great response and made each candle with love.

The ‘’spring’s coming’’ deal has closed as spring is here. In the next few days I will be creating scorching hot a summer deals (if only the weather was like that in the UK) which will last the entire summer. So grab a bargain!

My birthday was two weeks ago and I decided to celebrate it with a few friend at our local.  I decided to use them as guinea pigs and gave them a sample of my almond-rose candle in their goodie bags. Over Valentines my almond-Vanilla scented candle sold like hot cakes and I wanted to try another combo which apparently is relaxing and a mood creator. Well my dears, my almond mixed scents went down well with my friends they are addicted and have been buying candles as presents. I have also got a custom order for a wedding requiring 200 Almond-spice candles. Pretty exciting huh. I feel like the female Willy Wonka of candles.

My last post is pretty much dated and I feel really bad about that. I have been working my fingers to the bone producing new delights for my customers. I’ve updated the Michelle Antoinette and the Eve of London websites with lovely goodies, especially for Valentines Day.

Yours truly has been a victim of this strange (allergy, cold, flu) virus going around. I’ve been trying my best to boost my immune system to beat it; at this point it’s 50/50. I’m well enough to shop for new materials, in between that getting rest and drinking lots of warm water. Can’t wait for spring, the season of new beginnings & rebirth. I’ve been over whelmed by the lovely materials and colours for spring. I believe it will be difficult to not over spend on supplies for this season.  My faithful staff has been doing an amazing job completing all orders while I’ve been under the weather. I’ve been so impressed; I believe two mega spring BBQ’s are in order. I would be more than happy to whip up great American style BBQ treats for them. Cooking is my second love and would be a nice Thank You.
